Sausalito Gelato and Chocolate (Formerly COA Chocolate and Gelato) is a small chocolate shop that makes small batch chocolates. They are also owned by the owner of Lappert's Ice Cream. I didn't know they were related, but it makes sense that they sell ice cream and soft serve also. I was more surprised with the Dole Whip flavors of pineapple and strawberry.

I have been on a real soft serve kick lately and was thrilled when we randomly stumbled across this place. And not just any soft serve- they have dole whip!! Pineapple and strawberry flavors, available separately or in a delightful swirl. Of course not quite as good as the beloved Disneyland classic, but it comes pretty darn close aside from the texture being a little less smooth/creamy. Bonus points for friendly service and very generous samples! Didn't get a chance to try the other offerings but there seemed to be something for everyone in this tiny unassuming sweet shop.

You could find lots of rare chocolate here, like the special tea chocolate from Singapore and the 75% dark single origin from Venezuala, and also Amedei from Italy. My new favorite chocolate store now

I really like this place. It's one of the first things you see when walking off the ferry and into town. They have all your sweet needs and gelato. The Kona tracks one was delicious. I recommended trying some gelato here!

Can never go wrong with Dole Whip. They had other options which seemed tempting but we only came for the Whip. The service was nice and very attentive to our requests. Lots of chocolate options in the store. Little "hole in the wall" store which suited Sausalito. We will definitely come back when we are in San Francisco next.

I was walking down downtown Sausalito looking for some dessert and happened to see a sign saying "dole whip" outside. I LOVE DOLE WHIP! I was so excited to give this place a try. Dole whip: was delicious just like Disneyland. Had the same creaminess without dairy and was nice and smooth. Overall, the dole whip was good but a bit on the pricey side. It was about the same price as Disneyland $6-7 but the portion was smaller. I think they'd sell a lot more if they sold it for $5 or something more reasonable.
